How the Project Works

The Irish News Young News Readers Critical Literacy Media Project was developed to provide a weekly School Edition newspaper to schools at grade Key stage 2 and Key stage 3, to support literacy skills and learning.

Research showed, being 'too boring and irrelevant' as reasons for lack of interest in news in a younger audience, therefore an initiative was created to engage young people in news by utilising innovative tactics to communicate relevant information in an interesting way to them.
